SmartWise B6 UNI Zigbee smart wall switch product family comes with a physical push-button front panel and has embedded chips supporting Zigbee 3.0 + RF 433MHz connections. The smart wall switch shall be connected to a Zigbee 3.0 gateway or hub, which can be a Sonoff or SmartWise Zigbee gateway connecting to the cloud-based eWeLink platform, or can be other local Zigbee hub compatible with standard Zigbee 3.0 devices. The RF433MHz receiver can be used to pair with wireless Sonoff or SmartWise RF433 switches and remote controllers to support local remote control or wireless 2-way switching.
The SmartWise B6 Zigbee smart light switch is available in 1, 2, 3 gang (button) versions, and can have white, grey, black or gold push button front panel.
A similar switch from SmartWise is available with a stylish white or black glass front-panel touch-switch version, called SmartWise T6 Zigbee, with the same smart features as the physical push-button model.
Wiring
The UNI version of SmartWise smart wall switches support universal wiring: recommended for live + neutral wire, but is also supporting single live wire (no neutral) wiring, so it can be used in any places to replace any traditional wall switches. When wired without neutral, it is recommended for switching lights only, and is compatible with tungsten, LED and CFL. If wired with with a single live wire only, a small anti-flicker module (included in the product box) must be connected to the lamp.
Smart Home platform
SmartWise’s standard Zigbee 3.0 wall switches are compatible with most Zigbee gateways and hubs, so they can be used with a wide range of platforms. When used with a Sonoff or SmartWise Zigbee gateway, they are connected to the eWeLink cloud platform, and the light switch can be managed in the eWeLink app. In such a case they work well with other eWeLink brands like Sonoff, SmartWise, WDYK and Woolley.
If you want to use them with a local Zigbee hub, you can also choose the affordable SONOFF iHost hub, which runs a local eWeLink platform (eWeLink Cube) instead of the cloud-based eWeLink platform.
Of course, you can choose a different platform using Zigbee 3.0 connections, such as the Aoetec SmartThings hub.
But you can also use it with the Home Assistant Green hub running the Home Assistant open source platform and its SkyConnect Zigbee USB coordinator, or with the Sonoff ZBDongle USB Zigbee coordinator connected to a local hub.
Local control
SmartWise B6 UNI Zigbee switches have a physical push-button front panel, which allows you to switch the lights on the wall switch just the same way as you would with a traditional non-smart switch.
Local remote control
Thanks to its built-in 433MHz RF receiver, it can be remotely controlled by SmartWise or Sonoff wireless, wall-mounted RF switches and RF433 radio remote controllers. With the wireless switches it is easy to have a 2-way/3-way wireless switching.
In case of 2-gang and 3-gang switches: each gang on the switch can be paired separately with wireless switches and remote controls, each gang/button can be paired with different wireless switches, if needed.
Features:
The smart switch shall be paired with a Zigbee gateway or hub, and through an internet-connected gateway or hub, you can check the ON/OFF status of the switch at any time (e.g. in a phone APP or a web interface). Also you may remotely turn the light switch on/off, set a scheduled on/off. Depending on the Zigbee Bridge functions, the remote control can be shared with others, for example with family members or colleagues in an office.
It’s an ideal solution for smart control of any kind of lights and lamps.
Used as a home security solution, you can program a presence simulation, i.e. to turn on or off in a scheduled way, so that the outside world thinks you are at home.
And, of course, you can set up any other automation between your eWeLink devices – whether they’re Wi-Fi, Zigbee or even RF – based on sensor data or the status of other devices.
